Joss Stone History & Trivia • Introducing...Joss Stone
Joss Stone was born Joscelyn Eve Stoker on 11th April, 1987. At the age of 14, Joss auditioned for the BBC show Star For A Night, which she went on to win by singing a Donna Summer song, On The Radio.
Joss was signed to S-Curve records in 2002, and toured the USA throughout 2003 at the age of just 16, receiving excellent reviews.
Album One: The Soul Sessions
In 2004, Joss performed at the Glastonbury festival, later releasing her debut album, The Soul Sessions, to critical acclaim. The album was released on S-Curve Records in America and Relentless in Britain, having sold around 4 million copies to date (wikipedia.org), receiving triple platinum status in the UK and reaching number 4 in the UK charts and was gold certified in the US.
Album Two: Mind, Body & Soul
Mind, Body & Soul was released in 2004, a year after the release of her first album, The Soul Sessions. The album reached number one in the UK album charts for one week, making Joss the youngest artist to ever have a number one album in the UK charts, and reached 11 in the US album charts on the Billboard 200. Despite the album's success, the four released singles from Mind, Body & Soul, Right To Be Wrong, You Had Me, Spoiled and Don't Cha Wanna Ride. Mind, Body & Soul was, as The Soul Sessions, certified triple-platinum in the UK, selling approximately 4.5 million copies worldwide.
Album Three: Introducing Joss Stone
Introducing Joss Stone is Joss Stone's most recently released studio album, released in March 2007. Worldwide sales of Introducing Joss have passed the 1 million copies mark, with the album peaking at position 12 in the UK album charts (3 in the UK Urban Albums Chart - wikipedia.org).
